Stuttgart Automaker Porsche is enlarging it’s range to the electrified like other automakers, so recently the company announced E-Hybrid version of its flagship SUV Cayenne. This new Cayenne is improved plug-in and EV Porsche but with hybrid technology, it is powerful and faster.
This new Cayenne has improved E-Performance marque and it is going to has the engine like standard Cayenne, 2019 E-Hybrid version has the 3,0-liter V6 engine with a single turbo. And its electric motor adding 134 hp and 295 lb-ft torque and combinations of these all produce 455 hp and 516 lb-ft torque under the hood. This is same as the Porsche Panamera E-Hybrid. About performance, it’s max. speed is 157 mph(252 km/h) and can reach 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds.
Also, part of the revised the hybrid powertrain is an electromechanical separating clutch that pairs with the Cayenne’s S transmission, an 8-speed gearing system which premieres on this model. Standard as well as is Porsche’s Sport Chrono Package, which offers not only the Sport and Sport Plus drive settings (where the V-6 engine excels) but four new hybrid modes—E-Power (solely electric), Hybrid Auto (optimally switches between electric and gas), E-Hold (conserves the electric charge), and E-Charge (the V-6 engine generates excess power for battery storage).
New generation Cayenne got 30 percent increase in battery efficiency although it is the same size, but capacity now is 14.1 kWh. The battery can charge up full in just 2.3 hours and its back-up is around 7.8 hours.
Porsche Cayenne E-hybrid looking similar to the standard model of Cayenne but it has some changes in the exterior. And it receives first ever 22-inch wheels from Porsche.
2019 Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid will go on sale in 2019 and price will be nearly US$80,000.
