Supercar is always success to create the buzz and car manufacturers tend to come out with their concept cars as they can. Mostly concept cars are like only for the photos and expo or car shows, barely any concept car comes in the showroom.
Supercar concept might be weirdest, wildest or stunning but not all cars come into reality. Here 7 cars are shortlisted which are really exciting supercars would be if they come in reality but unfortunately, they are not lucky too because they never to come.
1- Volkswagen W12
VW W12 Syncro prototype was unveiled at 1997 Tokyo Motor Show. This was the car which was the most ambitious project of Volkswagen ever.
W12 had mid-engined with all-wheel drive and it produced 414bhp. This super price was estimated US$200,000. VW rolled it onto the racetrack and wanted to set performance and speed records. The 12-cylinder engine had two V6 four-valve modules and at 72 degrees angle which makes up V-V or W shape. This supercar develops 620 Nm at 5800 rpm and its top speed was like 350km/h.
2- Cadillac Cien
Cadillac Cien introduced in 2002, it was designed to celebrate Cadillac’s 100 years in the Automobile industry. Its design, lines, and curves showed an evolution of the design language in that time.
Cadillac Cien’s 7.5-litre V-12 engine was visible from the rear window and it generates 750 horsepower and 450 Nm torque. The body and supercar’s chassis built from carbon fiber composites, derived from race car technology and supercar was lightweight but strong. It becomes unreal and that it never made it to the road except in these movies ‘The Island’ and ‘Transformers: Age Of Extinction’.
3- Lotus Esprit (2014)
Lotus Esprit was not lightweight supercar like another Lotus cars. Lotus wanted to take on Porsche 911 with Esprit and it long stayed concept car but finally, Lotus canceled production of this supercar.
Esprit had the 5.0-litre V8 engine which produces 612 HP and 530 lb-ft torque. This car is a seriously fast car, 0-62 mph in just 3.4 seconds and it can go 205 mph. At that time, its price would be around $170,000. The New Esprit was announced by Lotus at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, It was supposed to go into production in late 2013 and go on sale in early 2014. Unfortunately, Lotus shelved the project in September 2014.
4- Mazda Furai
Mazda Furai made its debut at 2008 North American International Show, Detroit. Furai introduced Mazda’s new design language which called “Nagare” which we can see in Mazda’s Premacy Minivan.
Furai was powered by 20B 3-rotor Wankel engine which was heavily modified and it put out 450 HP. Mazda had serious plans for this supercar to put it on the race tracks. It has Le Mans prototype chassis because Mazda had motorsport oriented aims. In 2013, Top Gear published the story and it explained that how on August 19, 2008, Furai’s engine caught on fire while it was on the track for the photography session.
5- Mercedes Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo
This AMG supercar came in the world because of the 15th anniversary of the Sony PlayStation racing simulator. Mercedes Benz kept this Gran Turismo car as a real, classy and futuristic.
On 15th Anniversary of PS’ racing simulator, producer of Gran Turismo series, Kazunori Yamauchi requested manufacturers to send concepts for futuristic supercars. Its most eye-catching feature is the LED radiator grille. This concept supercar is powered by the twin-turbo V8 engine which can make 585 horsepower. It has the very long bonnet, aerodynamically efficient form and broad wheel arches which giving muscular look to the car.
6- Jaguar C-X75
Jaguar C-X75 is the best looking and most extreme car so far. Jaguar made it with the mixing of XJ13, XK and XJ stylings on Jaguar’s 75th birthday.
C-X75 is a jet-powered hybrid supercar which outputs up to 900 bhp power and aimed to compete with McLaren P1, LaFerrari, and Porsche 918 Spyder but unfortunately, Jaguar canceled to bring it in the showrooms. There’s a supercharged turbo 1.6-litre engine using direct or port-fed fuel injection, combined with two electric motors and a lithium-ion battery pack to create a four-wheel drive hybrid supercar with around 900bhp. This car has appeared in Bond’s movie “Spectre”, James Bond was being chased by the Jaguar C-X75.
