Lexus introduced compact SUV concept in 2016 at the Paris Motor Show and after two years it becomes reality. On that concept based Lexus UX compact SUV debut at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. UX is the company’s first compact SUV crossover is the rival of BMW X2, Audi Q3, Mercedes-Benz GLA, Volvo XC40 and even with Jaguar E-Pace.
Lexus introduced the car in one of the fastest growing and most competitive segments. So standing out from that crowd, UX has company’s signature big grill and thin arrow like headlights. UX is getting style DNAs from recent Lexus cars and concepts.
In the released video, its also revealed interior including a digital instrument cluster with a center ring and widescreen infotainment screen. There are low-set air intakes in the front bumper and the requisite crossover cladding on the wheel-arches.
Technical specifications about the vehicle are not clear so far but it is expected that UX may come in a hybrid version and get the latest 2.0-litre engine of the Toyota Hybrid System II (THS II) and Lexus has already registered patent the UX 200 and UX 250. And hybrid version might come under the UX250h name.
Lexus has just released first look about UX but all details will be unveiled at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.
