Right now Leaf is the only all-electric car model, but soon it won’t be alone because Nissan’s IMx EV is headed in the production and it will be going to expand Nissan’s electric cars lineup. IMx EV will be the SUV version of Nissan Leaf and will give competition to Tesla and other EVs.
Last year Nissan unveiled this concept, and the company is said that its production version of IMx concept will debut at the Tokyo Motor Show this year.
As Aoki who is Nissan’s design chief of Europe said to Autocar, that the production version of this concept will be on the roads in next few years. It means this concept might become Company’s future design language and we can expect that production model of this crossover SUV will have similar curves and design like this concept.
If Nissan will keep the production vehicle’s specs as the concept, then it may have 435 horsepower and driving range nearly 380 miles from dual electric motors. This crossover will have some serious competition from Volkswagen, Hyundai and some coming up automakers who is going to put electric crossovers or SUV in the market.
